18 year old Danish driver, Frederik Vesti, finished fourth in the 2020 FIA Formula 3 Championship where he joined Prema alongside Oscar Piastri and Logan Sargeant. He was one of the six who had the opportunity to win the championship during the final weekend.
According to driver database, Vesti began his karting experience in 2012 where he took a championship win in his first year during the Rotax Mini Nordic Championship. He also completed the Denmark Cadett Junior Kart Cup South and the Minimax Chrono Rotax Max Winter Cup in that same year. Vesti took his next win in 2013 during the Cadet Junior Danish Championship while also competing in the 65KG Racehall of Champions and Junior Rotax Max Challenge Denmark. He went on to take a third championship win in 2014 at the KFJ Danish Championship while also taking third that same year in the KFJ NEZ Cup. His last karting win was in 2015 at the KFJ WSK Final Cup.
Vesti made the leap to single seaters in 2016 where he joined Vesti Hoyer Motorsport in the Formula Ford Denmark where he finished 4th with two wins. From there, he took on three championships in 2017. He completed two races in the Formula 4 US Championship with Global Racing Group where he took one point. He also joined Van Amersfoort Racing in the F4 ADAC Championship where he finished 7th with one win and two podiums and he joined Vesti Motorsport in the F4 Danish Championship where he finished runner up with 8 wins and 7 other podiums.
In 2018, he did a second year in F4 ADAC with Van Amersfoort where he took 4th in the championship. He also joined the team in the Italian F4 where he finished 10th with 2 wins and a further podium. In 2019, he joined Prema Powerteam for the Formula Regional European Championship where he took 13 wins, 7 further podiums and went on to win the championship.
He debuted in Formula 3 with Van Amersfoort during 2018 where he completed 3 races in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship. He wasn’t applicable for points. He continued with the team to Macau that same year where he finished 15th. He returned to Macau in 2019 with SJM Prema Theodore Racing where he finished 10th. He returned to Formula 3 for the 2020 season with Prema where he took 3 wins and a further podium to finish 4th.
