The Ferrari Driver Academy is the Scuderia Ferrari’s junior programme designed to carry drivers up through the ranks to the Formula 1 team. They also provide training sessions every few months where coaches train up the drivers in the academy.
The idea of a driver academy started with Felipe Massa after Ferrari followed him, where he was then loaned out to Sauber in Formula 1. He was still under contract with Ferrari but was driving for Sauber. From then, they had 23 different drivers part of the academy, where some have been moved up the ranks.
Some famous people that have come up through the Ferrari programme to Formula 1 are:
