Yuki started his karting career in JAF Junior Karting Championship during 2010. He moved to the regional class in 2013 and then the national in 2014.
He made his single seater debut with Sutekina Racing Team in the F4 Japanese championship during Suzuka race. He claimed his first podium with 2nd in his first race, finishing 4th in his second race. The following year, he made his full first season debut with Honda Formula Dream Project whilst also competing in JAF F4 Japanese championship. Yuki won the title of JAF F4 Japanese championship whilst also finishing 3rd in the nation Japanese Formula 4 championship. He continued to race with Honda in Japanese F4, winning a title with them in 2018.
In 2019, Tsunoda raced in the Formula 3 championship with Jenzer Motorsport, also with Andreas Estner. He finished 9th in the standings, behind Leonardo Pulcini and ahead of Max Fewtrell.
Also in 2019, he entered Euroformula Open championship, after being entered for Formula European Masters but it was ultimately cancelled. Yuki finished 4th with Team Motopark.
Yuki entered Macau Grand Prix for the first time with Hitech Grand Prix to finish 16th in the qualifying race and 11th in the main race.
In 2020, Yuki has so far competed in the Toyota Racing Series with M2 Competition where he finished 4th in the standings with 257 points.
FIA Formula 2 Championship
Yuki Tsunoda will be making his debut with Carlin for the 2020 championship season. He will be seated alongside other Red Bull Junior, Jehan Daruvala.
