David started karting early on in his life where he competed in different karting championships. His best result was second in the 2017 German Kart Championship where he raced with KSM Schumacher Racing Team to claim 197 points, just short behind fellow FIA F3 driver Dennis Hauger. In 2017, he also karted in the 22 degrees South Garda Winter Cup, WSK Champions Cup, the WSK Super Master Series and the CIK-FIA European Championship.
In 2018, Schumacher made his move to single-seaters to compete in the ADAC Formel 4 with US Racing – CHRS where he placed 9th with 103 points. Alongside ADAC, David competed in the 2017-18 Formula 4 UAE Championship with Rasgaira Motorsports Team where he racked up 325 points, 16 podiums, 3 wins and five pole positions out of 19 races to finish second in the championship behind Charles Weerts. Schumacher also joined RP Motorsport as a guest driver in the Euroformula Open Championship and to race in the Spanish Formula 3 for four races where he took 12th, 8th and two fourths and placed 6th in the standings.
Moving in to 2019, David competed a full season of the Formula Regional European Championship with US Racing where he took 9 podiums, 4 wins and 5 poles to grab 285 points and fourth in the standings.
FIA Formula 3
He also competed in the first six races of the Winter Asian F3 Championship with Pinnacle Motorsport where he finished 8th, taking a single podium and 43 points. David made his debut into the FIA Formula 3 where he raced twice with Campos Racing where he placed 22nd and 20th. Alongside his two stints in F3, he also raced in the Macau Grand Prix with Sauber Junior Team by Charouz where he finished 21st.
So far in 2020, Schumacher has competed in the 2019-2020 MRF Challenge Formula 2000 with MRF Racing where hes take one win and four podiums, finishing with 82 points and 9th in the standings.
David is returning for a full season in FIA Formula 3 as he will race as apart of Charouz Racing System with Niko Kari and rookie, Igor Fraga.
