Malvestiti started karting in 2010 where he competed in the 2010 Easykart International Grand Final – Easy 60 and the 2010 Trofeo Nazionale Easykart – 60cc. He continued to kart up until 2015 when he made his move to the Italian Formula 4 Championship. Federico raced with Antonelli Motorsport for 6 races. He competed full time in the championship the following year in 2016 with the team. He finished 25th in the championship with his highest placing being seventh.
Federico spent his next year in the Italian F4 Championship with Jenzer Motorsport with his highest placing being seventh one again, with 19 points and 10th in the standings. Malvestiti placed 70 points behind ninth place, Enzo Fittipaldi. 2018 was Federico’s last year in the Italian Formula 4 championship where he competed once again with Jenzer Motorsport and taking his first win of the championship at the third race of the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari Circuit. Alongside his win, he took home four podiums and 173 points, placing him 6th in the standings. Alongside F4, Malvestiti competed in two races in the ADAC Formel 4.
Moving in to 2019, he made the move to the Formula Renault Eurocup with Bhaitech. He took one podium, third place, and 36 points to take him to 14th in the standings.
FIA Formula 3
2019 was also the year that Federico made his debut in the FIA Formula 3 Championship where he competed in two races with Jenzer Motorsport at Silverstone where he retired in the first race and placed 23rd in the second.
Malvestiti will be returning to FIA Formula 3 with Jenzer Motorsport where he’ll be competing alongside rookies Calan Williams and Matteo Nannini.
