History
HWA Racelab is the team of HWA AG, which is a vehicle manufacturer for Mercedes-AMG. They took Arden International’s Formula 2 place after they decided to leave the championship. For their first season in Formula 2, they have Artem Markelov, a veteran with currently 6 seasons under his belt, and Giuliano Alesi, who is starting his second season. This is their second year competing in junior formulae instead of Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM). The team also joined the 2018-19 season of Formula E with Gary Paffett and Stoffel Vandoorne.

FIA Formula 3
HWA were announced as one of the ten teams that would make up the grid for the 2019 FIA Formula 3 Championship. They were joined by British driver Jake Hughes where he gained four podiums, one win, one pole and two fastest laps for the team to finish 7th with 90 points, Dutch driver Bent Viscaal who took 10 points for the team to finish 15th and Irani driver Keyvan Andres who finished 28th in the standings. Collectively, the team finished fifth in the team championship.

For their 2020 season, HWA Racelab will be bringing back Jake Hughes who will be racing in car number 15 and two rookies, Brazilian Enzo Fittipaldi in car 14 and Australian Jack Doohan who will be in car 16.
